Hello friends,
I would love to be able to express some ideas that I've gathered from reading Rushdie. However, I have a confession to make, I've only read the first assigned reading. I am sure that you Wesleyan's will find the grace sufficient to forgive me. Instead of writing about Rushdie, I thought that I would give a personal update for those of you, like me, who are revolving in the hustle and bustle of your own stories.
In case you haven't heard, I have since accepted a job at OCU as an admissions counselor. I am basically doing the same thing as Stina. I am really happy with this job; I feel that I am natural at it, I am noticing that OCU treats their employees pretty well, and I enjoy the folks that I work with. I would love to stay here and eventually go to graduate school. "For what?" you ask? I have no idea. We'll see.
Things at the Durham/Williams household are well. We have a little one and might be expecting another one soon. Er, dogs, that is.
But that is basically it: the normal 8-5 everyday with some fun in between. I am afraid to say that most of the dream-like wonder and optimism has left me since our times at OCU. The "real world" will do that to you I suppose. However, I still dream and I always look forward.
It warms my heart to hear from my friends. Thanks for reading and I wish you all the very best.
